Mechanical Field Service Technician – Pumps, Compressors & Industrial Equipment

About the role

We are seeking a practical, hands‑on Mechanical Field Service Technician to support a range of industrial and marine equipment projects across Oman. The role involves independently setting up, operating and troubleshooting diesel generators, pumps, compressors and related systems on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, troubleshoot and maintain diesel generators, centrifugal and positive‑displacement pumps, air compressors and other mechanical equipment.
• Install and connect hoses, manifolds, valves, fittings, reducers, couplings and temporary piping arrangements.
• Select appropriate hoses and fittings based on pressure, flow and fluid requirements.
• Configure temporary equipment systems for de‑watering, tank cleaning, flushing, pressure cleaning, air supply and pressurisation.
• Work safely with high‑pressure and ultra‑high‑pressure cleaning equipment where trained.
• Diagnose equipment and system issues on‑site and develop practical solutions.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on pumps, compressors, generators and associated components.
• Assist with equipment mobilisation, installation, testing, commissioning and demobilisation.
• Inspect equipment before use, identifying defective hoses, seals, valves and mechanical parts.
• Coordinate with supervisors, operators and other technicians during field operations.
• Follow company HSE procedures for pressurised systems, rotating equipment and high‑pressure hoses.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on field experience in industrial, marine, oil & gas, rental‑equipment or technical services.
• Strong practical knowledge of diesel‑driven equipment, generators and air compressors.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and diagnose problems on site.
• Mechanical trade certificate, diploma or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
