Mechanical Technician – Maintenance (UAE based)

About the role

The Mechanical Technician – Maintenance will be responsible for the installation, repair and upkeep of mechanical equipment and plant assets to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. The role is based in the UAE and supports the Oman Pool operation, adhering to EHS standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform breakdown repairs, preventive, predictive and scheduled maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Assess job requirements, select appropriate tools and equipment, and follow safety and plant operational procedures.
• Use SAP to order spare parts, record maintenance activities and maintain accurate work logs.
• Monitor recurring failures, recommend and implement modifications to eliminate repeat breakdowns.
• Identify abnormalities, initiate repairs, replacements, testing and assembly of components.
• Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required.
• Mentor newly joined mechanics, providing plant and equipment knowledge.
• Participate in EHS and performance improvement activities such as Suggestion Scheme, 5S, hazard reporting, etc.
• Assist other departments with equipment troubleshooting and repair.
• Input data into maintenance management systems for work and manpower records.
• Execute daily shift duties with a team of technicians, craftsmen and contractors.
• Perform planned maintenance inspections and checklists according to the maintenance plan.

Required profile

• Diploma in a relevant mechanical field.
• Completion of PEC Craft Training.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy‑industry mechanical maintenance after diploma.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools and strong computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals and instructions.
