Principal Electrical Designer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Principal Electrical Designer to lead a team of designers and draftspeople in the delivery of oil & gas facility projects in Oman. The role involves managing design schedules, checking discipline drawings, and ensuring compliance with company, Shell and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a pool of designers and draftspeople, planning tasks to meet project schedules.
• Produce, review and modify 2D and 3D electrical drawings using E3D and AutoCAD.
• Conduct site visits to gather existing data and perform lighting design calculations in Dialux.
• Ensure design interfaces with other disciplines are clearly defined and documented.
• Train and develop Omani personnel in drafting and design roles.

Required profile

• Minimum HND/ITI/Diploma in Engineering.
• At least 18 years of related experience, including 12 years in oil & gas facility design.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and check discipline drawings.
• Fluent spoken and written English and PC literate.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling with E3D.
• 2D drafting and design using AutoCAD.
• Lighting design calculations using Dialux.
• Knowledge of company standards, Shell DEP’s and international codes.
