Psychiatrist – Addiction Recovery

About the role

Salwa Healthcare, an addiction recovery hospital in Sohar, Oman, is looking for a motivated Psychiatrist to join its multidisciplinary team. Working under the guidance of the Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals with addiction‑related and co‑occurring mental health conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the Consultant Psychiatrist.
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications as needed.
• Deliver individual and group psychiatric care alongside psychologists, counselors, nurses, and social workers.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
• Participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of foundational experience in Medicine and Psychiatry.
• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) with a qualification in Psychiatry.
• Eligibility for licensure or registration in Oman.
• Ability to manage cases involving addiction and co‑occurring mental health conditions.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings is highly beneficial.
• Commitment to trauma‑informed, culturally sensitive, and non‑discriminatory care.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
