QC Laboratory Technologist

About the role

The QC Laboratory Technologist will support the Longevity Cell Bank’s Cord Blood Bank Service by receiving, registering, and testing a variety of samples. The role ensures accurate quality control of cord blood units and maintains compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and register in‑process, final product and maternal samples, verifying identity, labels and chain of custody.
• Perform cord blood testing: TNC and differential counts, CD34+ and viability by flow cytometry, CFU assays, ABO/Rh grouping, and sterility testing.
• Run post‑thaw potency and viability tests on reference segments when required.
• Conduct environmental and personnel monitoring, including particle counts, air sampling and isolate identification.
• Execute IQC, participate in EQA/PT schemes, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Prepare reagents and culture media, record data contemporaneously (ALCOA+), and generate Certificates of Analysis.
• Report OOS results, deviations or excursions immediately and support method validation and audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• Oman MOH professional licence (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Minimum 2 years experience in a clinical, blood bank or QC laboratory.
