Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will support construction projects by managing quantities, costs and contract variations. The role involves monthly cost reviews, forecasting final contract values and ensuring accurate measurement and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress and value of work done (VOWD).
• Certify subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts.
• Measure, value and submit contract variations.
• Perform ongoing quantity measurement, re‑measurement and reporting.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of project schedules and assess impact of activity duration changes.
• Assist the Contracts department in preparing, submitting and negotiating final project accounts.
• Ensure commercial processes are adhered to at project level and produce accurate formal reports on schedule.
• Monitor labour, material and subcontractor cost forecasts to keep budgets on track.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
• Ability to conduct monthly cost reviews and forecast final contract values.
• Strong understanding of project schedules and their impact on cost forecasts.
• Experience preparing and negotiating final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate reports within deadlines.
