Resident Engineer

About the role

The Resident Engineer will lead on‑site supervision and management of a large dam construction project in Muscat, Oman. The role ensures that all works are carried out according to approved designs, specifications and contractual obligations while upholding safety, quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all on‑site construction activities for the dam project.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, technical standards and contract requirements.
• Monitor progress, report on milestones and manage timely completion.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and client representatives to resolve technical issues.
• Review and approve method statements, shop drawings and material submittals.
• Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits and enforce health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage site engineers, inspectors and other technical staff.
• Prepare progress, non‑conformance and other project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (master’s preferred) with at least 15 years of dam‑work supervision experience.
• Proven delivery of three or more large dams (height > 20 m) and contract management on projects exceeding 5 million OMR.
• Experience in GCC, especially Oman, and familiarity with international standards such as ICOLD, ASTM, BS and ISO.
• PMP or equivalent certification and membership in a recognised engineering body are preferred.
