Sales Support Engineer - Fire Protection (Omani Nationals Only)

About the role

Johnson Controls' Tyco Fire Protection Products team supports customers with fire detection, fire alarm and related fire protection solutions. This role combines engineering knowledge with customer-facing sales support to deliver accurate, standards-based proposals and product guidance in Oman. The employer is looking for a Sales Support Engineer with a mechanical engineering background.

Key responsibilities

• Support customers by identifying their needs and recommending suitable Tyco fire protection solutions.
• Prepare quotations, technical proposals and follow-up communication for new and repeat opportunities.
• Review specifications, project requirements and product selections to ensure accurate configurations.
• Provide application support for fire detection products and PAVA system solutions.
• Work with sales, customer service, product management and technical services to deliver timely support.
• Apply solutions in line with BS5839, NFPA and other relevant international codes and standards.
• Maintain quotation reporting, customer follow-up and market feedback on trends and applications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in sales support, estimation, design or technical sales of fire detection products or related fire protection solutions, preferably in the GCC market.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Omani nationals only.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of fire and voice alarm design and installation standards, including BS5839 and NFPA.
• Ability to review technical specifications, prepare quotations and handle customer queries accurately.
• Nice to have: experience with Tyco fire products, fire detection systems or PAVA solutions; experience with wholesale distributors or channel partners; exposure to SAP or similar quotation and order-processing systems.
