SCADA/SAC/BPI Operator II – Baggage Handling Systems

About the role

The SCADA/SAC/BPI Operator II monitors and controls airport baggage handling systems (BHS) through advanced SCADA platforms. You will ensure continuous, efficient baggage flow, respond to alarms, and coordinate with technical teams to maintain system availability.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor BHS operations via SCADA, identifying and addressing abnormalities in real time.
• Adjust system configurations, routing logic, and conveyor settings to prevent congestion.
• Record all alarms, faults, and operational events accurately in the SCADA logbook.
• Escalate critical issues to shift leaders and coordinate maintenance dispatch through radio communication.
• Maintain communication with flow controllers, technicians, duty managers, and airport stakeholders using TETRA channels.
• Execute fallback procedures, manage priority handling for critical flights, and ensure no unauthorized system changes.
• Prepare daily operational reports and verify system readiness before operational hours.
• Validate system performance after restarts or configuration changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Instrumentation, IT, or a related field.
• Experience with industrial systems, automation, or baggage handling operations is preferred.
• Strong analytical ability to diagnose system faults quickly.
• Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• High attention to detail, especially in reporting and logging.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) and conveyor technology.
• Understanding of material handling processes and routing logic.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system layouts.
• Experience with computer reporting tools.
• Familiarity with TETRA radio communication for operational coordination.
