Senior EHS Engineer – Power Transmission Projects

About the role

The Senior EHS Engineer will lead the implementation of Environment, Health and Safety management systems for power transmission and distribution construction projects in Oman. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role ensures compliance with corporate standards, client requirements, Omani regulations and international best practices while driving a zero‑harm safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor project‑specific EHS plans, procedures and risk control measures.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard identification and risk assessments for transmission lines, substations and related construction activities.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action implementation.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety performance and ensure adherence to EHS requirements.
• Organise toolbox talks, safety campaigns, inductions and awareness programmes.
• Review work permits, method statements and job safety analyses before execution.
• Track EHS performance indicators and prepare periodic reports for management and clients.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and manage emergency response resources.
• Promote environmental protection measures such as waste management and pollution prevention.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science.
• NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory) and additional HSE certifications preferred.
• Fluent English; Arabic knowledge advantageous.
• 8‑12 years of EHS experience in construction, with at least 5 years in power transmission & distribution projects.
