Senior Infrastructure / Cloud Engineer

About the role

Goodman Masson is partnering with a new financial markets venture under formation in Oman, backed by prominent institutional investors. The business is building its operations from the ground up and is hiring during the build phase. The Senior Infrastructure / Cloud Engineer designs, manages and secures the cloud and on-premises infrastructure, reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure and providing technical leadership and day-to-day supervision to Infrastructure Team Members.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cloud infrastructure across OCI, Azure and AWS, alongside servers, storage and virtualisation platforms including VMware and Hyper-V.
• Administer Windows and Linux servers, enterprise infrastructure services and containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automate infrastructure deployment, configuration and maintenance with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Python.
• Support networking, firewalls, VPNs and cloud connectivity, and manage backup, disaster recovery, monitoring and high-availability solutions.
• Implement security measures, patching, access controls and compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot incidents affecting critical production systems and escalate significant risks.
• Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures and infrastructure diagrams.
• Supervise and coordinate the daily work of Infrastructure Team Members, and coordinate with internal IT teams, cloud providers, vendors and service providers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least five years' experience in infrastructure and/or cloud engineering.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or guiding technical team members.
• Strong written and spoken English; proficiency in Arabic is desirable.

Required skills

Desirable: professional certifications in cloud, infrastructure or networking, experience with business-critical production environments, experience coordinating infrastructure projects with external vendors, and Arabic proficiency. Location: Muscat, Oman. Omani nationals get permanent employment; expatriate hires are on a two-year fixed-term contract.
