Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

The Senior Planning Engineer will lead the planning, scheduling, monitoring and control of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope. This role provides strategic support to the project management team by delivering accurate schedules, identifying risks and optimizing resource utilization throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain the baseline project schedule in Primavera P6, aligning with contract requirements and project scope.
• Analyse drawings, specifications and contract documents to create realistic construction programmes.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams to define work sequences, durations and resource needs.
• Identify risks, constraints and critical activities, proposing mitigation measures to minimise delays.
• Monitor progress against the approved schedule, perform critical‑path analysis and update plans to reflect actual performance.
• Prepare detailed progress reports, dashboards and presentations for management and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil infrastructure construction and maintenance, preferably on road and bridge projects.
• Experience in the GCC/Middle East region is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to interpret complex project data.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• In‑depth knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques, including critical‑path analysis.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and resource planning.
