Senior Quantity Surveyor – Oman

About the role

Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Oman. The role focuses on post‑contract quantity surveying, commercial management and cost control across oil & gas and EPC projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate quantity surveying activities and site measurements.
• Prepare monthly valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor claims and commercial submissions.
• Monitor quantities, materials, labour and plant records against contract requirements.
• Support cost estimation and commercial reporting.
• Review BOQs, MTOs/BOMs and changes during engineering and construction stages.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, clients and consultants on commercial matters.

Required profile

• Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant post‑qualification experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience in oil & gas, EPC, construction, engineering, or maintenance contracts.
• Strong experience in post‑contract quantity surveying and commercial management.
• Experience in monthly valuations, measurements, re‑measurements and final accounts.
• Good knowledge of variations, claims, disputes, rate analysis and price escalation.
• Experience in reviewing BOQ, MTO/BOM and contract changes.
• Good commercial and contractual understanding.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and related computer applications.
• Strong communication, coordination and negotiation skills.
