Senior Site Engineer – Mechanical (Power Plants/CCGT)

About the role

As a Senior Site Engineer – Mechanical you will lead mechanical installations and construction activities on Closed and Open Cycle Gas Turbine projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project specifications and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with project managers to develop schedules, monitor progress and report to senior management while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers to create mechanical project plans, schedules and budgets, and report progress to senior management.
• Review and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and specifications, providing input to optimise system designs and ensure compliance with local codes.
• Supervise on‑site installation, conduct inspections, tests and audits, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical technicians, fostering a safety‑first culture.
• Establish and maintain quality control procedures, performing inspections to identify and resolve issues.
• Ensure all mechanical work adheres to safety regulations, investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Manage the mechanical project budget, perform cost estimation and identify cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably on power generation projects.
• Hands‑on experience with Closed/Open Cycle Gas Turbine and sub‑station projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proven project‑management and team‑leadership abilities.
