Senior Software Architect – Platform Foundations

About the role

RQMNA is looking for a Senior Software Architect to design and own the foundational platform that powers government and large‑enterprise services. Based on‑site in Muscat, you will set the technical direction that every other team follows.

Key responsibilities

• Define the platform’s reference architecture for low‑code and custom services, embedding scalability, resilience and security from day one.
• Establish engineering standards, patterns and architectural guardrails for all product teams.
• Make major technology decisions (build vs. buy) and document them as Architecture Decision Records.
• Lead architecture and design reviews, governing technical quality across multiple teams.
• Translate complex, national‑scale requirements into coherent, multitenant designs.
• Collaborate with data, integration, platform and security leaders to keep the full stack consistent.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise architectural capability throughout the organization.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and shipping large‑scale production systems.
• Deep understanding of microservices, event‑driven and domain‑driven design, and API‑first integration.
• Comfort working across a polyglot stack that combines low‑code platforms with custom services.
• Strong focus on scalability, resilience and security as core design constraints.
• Ability to set standards, review designs and mentor peers.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
