About the role

Talabat is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Specialist to support the rapid growth of its tMart grocery store concept across the Middle East. The role focuses on ensuring that all food products meet the highest safety and quality standards while supporting operational, legal, and health‑and‑safety teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with local and central departments to achieve business objectives.
• Deliver food safety and quality training to all employees, providing materials, templates, and procedures.
• Conduct food, health, and safety inspections, analyze hazard data, and share findings.
• Manage serious customer complaint escalations and act as the primary point of contact for food safety and quality matters.
• Coordinate product withdrawals, recalls, and incident responses.
• Ensure compliance with local food safety authority enforcement actions and monitor regulatory developments.
• Oversee food safety for own‑brand and private‑label assortments, including external laboratory testing and documentation.
• Execute mystery shopper programs and product sampling at store level.
• Provide regular reports to stakeholders to track food safety objectives.
• Support health and safety inspection programmes, audits, accident investigations, and corrective‑action follow‑up.

Required profile

• Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, legal, and central teams.
• Strong communication skills for delivering training and presenting technical information to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience handling food safety investigations, recalls, and regulatory compliance.
• Proactive approach to monitoring regulatory changes and implementing internal measures.
• Detail‑oriented mindset for maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.
