Specialist Ophthalmologist – Ophthalmology Department

About the role

The Ophthalmology Department in Sohar is seeking a Specialist Ophthalmologist to deliver high‑quality eye care. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive clinical services and contributing to patient management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough ophthalmic examinations, including slit‑lamp and fundus assessments.
• Evaluate and manage cataract cases, from diagnosis to postoperative care.
• Diagnose and treat glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, corneal and retinal conditions.
• Perform routine investigations such as tonometry and interpret results.
• Collaborate with other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MS/MD/DNB/FRCS) recognized by the Oman Medical Board/MOH.
• Minimum 3–5 years of post‑specialization experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Strong communication and patient‑management abilities.
