About the role

The Specialist Surgical Gastroenterologist will deliver high‑quality surgical care for patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders within a multidisciplinary hospital setting in Oman. The role emphasizes clinical excellence, patient‑centred treatment planning, and collaboration with a broad medical team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions that require surgical intervention.
• Perform gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgical procedures in line with established clinical standards.
• Conduct patient consultations, pre‑operative assessments, treatment planning and post‑operative follow‑up.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with quality and patient‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in General Surgery with specialised training in Gastrointestinal Surgery or Surgical Gastroenterology.
• Fellowship, MCh or DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology (or equivalent recognised qualification) preferred.
• Proven experience managing complex gastrointestinal surgical cases.
• Eligibility for Oman Prometric / OMSB registration or ability to apply.
