Stores Incharge

About the role

The Stores Incharge manages the stores and inventory of a fabrication yard, covering receipt and inspection of materials, stock control, issue and dispatch, documentation and team supervision. The role is centred on keeping inventory accurate and available while complying with company procedures and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt of materials from vendors and project sites, verifying quantity, specifications, packing list and delivery documents, and work with QA/QC and user departments on acceptance.
• Maintain optimum stock levels of consumables and project materials, monitor movement and prevent stock-outs or excess, and carry out periodic stock verification and reconciliation.
• Ensure proper storage, preservation, tagging and identification of materials, and keep the stores layout accessible and traceable.
• Issue materials against approved Material Requisition Notes (MRN), document movements and transfers, and coordinate dispatch to production areas and subcontractors.
• Update inventory transactions in ERP/SAP, maintain inward, outward and stock registers, and generate inventory reports, stock statements and management MIS reports.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, HSE requirements and inventory control guidelines, support internal and external audits, and investigate material discrepancies.
• Supervise storekeepers, assistants and warehouse personnel, allocate daily activities, monitor performance and promote housekeeping and safety.

Required profile

• Preferred: GCC/Oman experience in a fabrication yard or EPC projects.
• Preferred: experience in large-scale offshore modules, oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical or shipyard projects.
• Familiarity with SAP MM module and material traceability requirements.
• Good coordination, planning and reporting skills, strong communication and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• SAP/ERP-based inventory systems, preferably SAP MM.
• Knowledge of fabrication yard materials, welding consumables, structural steel, piping and electrical materials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting tools.
