About the role
The Commercial Team Leader will direct all commercial, feedstock sourcing, crude supply, logistics, and contract management activities for OQ8. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the role is responsible for shaping and executing strategies that maximise profitability, secure reliable feedstock, and drive product sales while ensuring compliance with corporate governance and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, manage and coordinate the Commercial Team, including Crude Supply and Product Commercial functions.
- Develop and implement integrated commercial strategies covering feedstock procurement, refinery optimisation, product commercialisation and margin enhancement.
- Oversee crude oil sourcing, supply‑portfolio management and feedstock optimisation to ensure security of supply and cost competitiveness.
- Direct product commercialisation activities, including domestic and international sales, customer relationship management and market development.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with crude suppliers, product customers, traders, national oil companies, government entities and logistics providers.
- Lead major commercial negotiations and manage the drafting, review, execution and administration of supply, sales, storage and logistics agreements.
- Optimise refinery margins by balancing feedstock economics, yields, market opportunities, logistics costs and commercial risks.
- Provide commercial leadership on pricing methodologies, valuation, formula pricing, market indexation, risk management, futures markets and hedging strategies.
- Monitor regional and international crude, refined‑product, freight and logistics markets and deliver strategic recommendations.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading commercial teams in the oil‑and‑gas or refining sector.
- Strong knowledge of feedstock procurement, crude supply management and product commercialisation.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage complex commercial contracts.
- Expertise in margin optimisation, pricing strategies and risk mitigation.
- Excellent stakeholder‑management skills with a track record of building strategic relationships.
