Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Director of Restaurants and the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations of restaurant, bar and room‑service areas. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of service, sanitation, and guest satisfaction while helping to achieve financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise shift operations, open and close the restaurant, and ensure all supplies, equipment and uniforms are available.
• Monitor employee performance, address questions or concerns, provide feedback and coach staff on service behaviours.
• Communicate food‑quality and service issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager and ensure compliance with all policies and local alcohol regulations.
• Assist with menu planning, budget management and achievement of revenue goals.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, handle guest complaints, and review feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate training initiatives, conduct on‑the‑job coaching and uphold sanitation standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least four years of experience in food‑and‑beverage or related fields, OR a two‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related discipline with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to supervise staff, manage daily operations and maintain high sanitation standards.
• Strong focus on guest satisfaction and employee development.
