Chief Engineer – Hotel Facilities Management

About the role

We are seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance and engineering operations of Mövenpick Hotel Muscat Bausher. The role ensures all facilities and equipment operate safely, efficiently and in line with budgetary and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee overall maintenance of the hotel’s facilities and equipment.
• Control maintenance budget and stock levels, keeping expenses within guidelines.
• Implement and monitor health and safety procedures, risk assessments and fire safety equipment testing.
• Maintain effective preventive‑maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Manage on‑site activities of all contractors and coordinate supplier quotations.
• Order maintenance supplies and maintain stock controls.
• Keep comprehensive records of machinery, equipment specifications and manuals.
• Lead, develop and motivate a high‑energy engineering team.
• Identify and drive process improvements and project‑manage policy changes.
• Participate in hotel crisis and fire response teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Electromechanical Engineering.
• 8–12 years of engineering/facilities experience in hospitality, including leadership roles.
• Proven experience as a Chief Engineer or equivalent senior engineering position.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage emergencies and flexible working hours.
