Contract Engineer – Procurement & Contracts

About the role

Eni Oman B.V. is seeking a Contract Engineer to lead procurement and contracting activities for works, materials and services in Muscat. The role focuses on developing contract strategies, managing tender processes and ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement contract and procurement strategies for goods, works and services.
• Prepare and manage tender processes, including documentation, bidder evaluation and contract award.
• Conduct commercial and contractual evaluations, negotiations and provide recommendations.
• Draft and review contract documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and legislation.
• Identify procurement opportunities, challenge business requirements and propose cost‑effective solutions.
• Perform market analysis and supplier assessments to support sourcing decisions.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle in coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate procurement and contract records and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement in contracting and procurement practices.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Code of Ethics, procurement procedures and governance requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically in contracting and procurement.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of international contracts, project governance and commercial awareness.
• Proven negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural environments.
• High level of professional and personal integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with SAP MM and SAP SRM modules.
• CIPS qualification (desirable).
