Control & Automation Designer – Projects Team

About the role

Wood is seeking a Control & Automation Designer to join its Projects team in Muscat, Oman. The role focuses on delivering FEED and detailed design packages for on‑shore oil and gas projects, creating high‑quality C&A drawings and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with discipline engineers and project designers to produce engineering and construction deliverables.
• Develop and maintain design drawings in PDMS and AutoCAD, including electronic mark‑ups and template management.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001‑2015 and API Q2 (2nd edition) quality management requirements.
• Perform quality assurance reviews, detailed checking, and monitor drawing progress against project schedules.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and cost.

Required profile

• Minimum ITI or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years FEED/engineering experience and 6 years overall oil & gas industry experience on major capital projects.
• Minimum 5 years experience with 3D drawing systems (e.g., PDMS) and AutoCAD.

Required skills

• PDMS (3‑D plant design software)
• AutoCAD
• Knowledge of ISO 9001‑2015 quality standards
• Familiarity with API Q2 (2nd edition) requirements
• FEED design methodology
