Electrical Draftsman / Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a talented Electrical Draftsman / Design Engineer to join our team in Muscat. The role focuses on LV Switchgear, VFD, PLC and BMS system design, ensuring high‑quality electrical documentation and compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, single‑line diagrams, panel layouts and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar tools.
• Design layouts for LV Switchgear, Motor Control Centres, control panels, VFD systems and PLC interfaces.
• Generate bills of quantities, material take‑offs, load schedules and perform cable‑sizing calculations.
• Verify that all designs meet project specifications, safety regulations and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with project engineers, procurement and site personnel to deliver practical engineering solutions.
• Review, revise and update drawings based on feedback and client requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning and preparation of technical documentation throughout project execution.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical drafting and design for LV Switchgear, VFDs, PLCs and BMS systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN or comparable electrical design software.
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel design and industrial automation.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple project deadlines.
• Effective communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
