Interventional Cardiologist – Specialist (Sohar, Oman)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to join our Cardiology Department in Sohar, Oman. The specialist will lead a full spectrum of interventional cardiac procedures, providing high‑quality care to patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and manage patients with cardiovascular disease in OPD, inpatient and emergency settings.
• Perform coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), coronary angioplasty and other Cath‑Lab procedures independently.
• Manage primary and emergency PCI for acute myocardial infarction and other acute coronary syndromes.
• Implant and program permanent pacemakers and other cardiac rhythm devices.
• Conduct balloon mitral valvotomy, aortoplasty, pericardiocentesis and related interventional techniques.
• Ensure patient safety, maintain accurate documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• DM or DNB/DrNB in Interventional Cardiology with a valid medical license.
• Minimum 3 years post‑specialisation experience; preferably 4‑6 years.
• Ability to work independently in a high‑volume Cath‑Lab environment.
• Strong clinical decision‑making and patient management skills.
