IT Support Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Data Center/IT Support Engineer to join FingTap Solutions on a freelance basis in Muscat, Oman. The role focuses on the installation and commissioning of a new data‑center infrastructure, ensuring hardware and network components are deployed efficiently and to specification.

Key responsibilities

• Handle physical rack mounting, rack exchange, cabling, server installation, and hardware component replacements.
• Assist with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of network devices, switches, routers, and overall IT network infrastructure.
• Perform initial hardware diagnostics, cable tracing, labeling, and signal testing to ensure optimal operating conditions.
• Coordinate with on‑site technical teams and remote engineers to execute deployment plans according to project specifications.
• Maintain detailed logs of rack layouts, asset tagging, maintenance activities, and completed installations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data‑center hardware installation and support.
• Ability to work on‑site in Muscat on a freelance basis.
• Strong coordination skills with on‑site teams and remote engineers.
