Junior Shipping Operator / Boarding Agent in Sohar

About the role

JP Shipping is launching a new office in Sohar, Oman, and is looking for a Junior Shipping Operator / Boarding Agent to support vessel calls and shipowner requirements. You will work independently on all port‑call procedures while coordinating closely with the Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Manage arrival and departure formalities for vessels.
• Handle inward and outward clearance with local authorities.
• Coordinate certificate renewals, Bill of Lading release, and crew changes.
• Process CTM (Cash to Master) transactions.
• Arrange spare‑parts delivery, bunker deliveries, and related clearances.
• Maintain liaison with the Harbor Master and other local agencies.
• Perform any other related tasks as required.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in a shipping agency or boarding agent role.
• Strong knowledge of Sohar port procedures and Harbor Master requirements.
• Excellent spoken and written English (IELTS 7.0 / C1 level).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Willingness to work shifts as needed.
