Lead Mechanical Engineer – Pipeline

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer – Pipeline to drive the engineering design of cross‑country and in‑plant pipeline systems for our projects in Oman. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will oversee the full design lifecycle from concept through EPC, ensuring safety, optimisation and compliance with OQEP standards and international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Execute pipeline engineering design across Concept, Pre‑FEED, FEED, Detailed Design and EPC phases.
• Lead and coordinate all pipeline engineering activities, delivering high‑quality design outputs on schedule.
• Act as the technical authority, guiding design decisions, applying standards and resolving complex technical issues.
• Develop and review pipeline layouts, plot plans, GA drawings, isometrics, hydro‑test diagrams, HDD profiles and crossing drawings.
• Prepare and review design basis documents, stress‑analysis philosophy, calculation reports and route‑selection studies.
• Ensure contractor deliverables meet project technical requirements and follow approved procedures.
• Verify compliance with company specifications, ASME B31.4, B31.8, B31.3, API, ISO, ASTM and other applicable codes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in pipeline engineering design covering concept to EPC phases.
• Strong knowledge of international pipeline codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, ASTM).
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and act as the technical authority.
• Excellent analytical skills for stress analysis, routing optimisation and feasibility studies.
