Network Security Engineer

About the role

The Network Security Engineer will design, build and operate the core network that powers a new greenfield financial‑market platform in Oman. You will work from the ground up during the build phase and then ensure the network remains secure, reliable and low‑latency in production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement network segmentation, zoning, routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, DNS and time‑synchronisation for optimal low‑latency performance.
• Establish and secure connectivity to external counterparties such as custodians, settlement banks and market systems.
• Own first‑line perimeter and internal security – firewall policies, privileged remote access, certificate and encryption management.
• Maintain device patching, hardening, support penetration‑testing activities and remediate findings.
• Lead initial response to network or security incidents and coordinate escalation when required.
• Document the network architecture and procedures to a review‑ready standard.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Networking, Information Security or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Minimum six years of network engineering experience with direct responsibility for security.
• Proven ability to configure firewalls, switches, segment networks and analyse packet captures.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Experience in regulated or high‑assurance environments, preferably financial‑services infrastructure.
