Power Generation Mechanic

About the role

The Power Generation Mechanic is responsible for operating, maintaining, testing, repairing and storing a range of electrical generating equipment, water distribution systems, flood lights, air compressors and aircraft arresting systems. The role supports both routine maintenance and emergency repairs while ensuring compliance with USAF and Amentum quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections, scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting on all assigned electrical equipment.
• Operate and service generators, compressors, flood lights and related power distribution systems.
• Use test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, megohmmeters and oscilloscopes to diagnose faults.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints and technical orders.
• Repair, fabricate, clean and reconstitute equipment for air, sea and road shipments.
• Maintain accurate documentation in work orders, USAF supply forms and Maximo.
• Handle hazardous materials safely and coordinate disposal as required.
• Operate material handling equipment and ensure personal protective equipment is serviceable.

Required profile

• Experience working with USAF or similar military maintenance standards.
• Ability to follow Performance Work Statements, ISO 9001 QMS and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in reading and applying technical orders, maintenance action sheets and unit type codes.
• Strong attention to detail for inspection, documentation and quality control.
