Protection Engineer – Transmission & Distribution

About the role

Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, is looking for a Protection Engineer to join its Transmission & Distribution team in Oman. You will be responsible for ensuring that protection systems meet OETC standards, supporting safe and reliable operation of the power network.

Key responsibilities

• Review design of current transformers (CTs) and voltage transformers (VTs) and perform sizing calculations.
• Validate Protection & Metering Diagrams (PMD) and Block Logic Diagrams (BLD) according to OETC philosophy.
• Check relay lists and settings to comply with OETC documents and standards.
• Coordinate with contractors and review scheme drawings to match project requirements.
• Represent OETC during protection testing activities and support approval processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in protection engineering.
• Proven experience reviewing protection system designs and relay settings.
• Familiarity with OETC standards and protection philosophies.
