Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer

About the role

RQMNA is looking for a Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate the sovereign private cloud and data‑center foundation that powers its platform. Based on‑site in Muscat, you will be responsible for the compute, storage, network and GPU layers that enable government and enterprise services on national soil.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run the on‑premises sovereign cloud and data‑center, including bare‑metal servers, virtualization hosts and the compute fleet.
• Manage GPU infrastructure for AI workloads, covering rack design, cooling systems and accelerator fleet.
• Administer enterprise storage and backup across block, file and object tiers, ensuring immutable long‑term archives.
• Engineer the network fabric and carrier links with built‑in segmentation and security.
• Plan capacity and hardware lifecycle for compute, storage, GPU and networking resources.
• Automate provisioning using infrastructure‑as‑code practices and deliver ready‑to‑use infrastructure to platform teams.
• Collaborate with platform engineers beneath Kubernetes and with security teams to maintain a hardened baseline.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and operating production data‑center or private‑cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of compute, virtualization, storage and networking integration.
• Hands‑on experience provisioning bare‑metal hardware and automating it with infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Ability to plan for capacity, resilience and hardware lifecycle ahead of demand.
• Depth in GPU or high‑performance compute environments is highly valued.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical expertise.
• Calm under hardware or data‑center incidents and capable of documenting resolutions.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
