Senior Quantity Surveyor – Commercial & Cost Management

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial and cost management activities across the full project lifecycle. The successful candidate will ensure accurate measurement, budgeting and procurement while supporting the delivery of construction projects within agreed financial parameters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and quantity surveying activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and review BOQs, cost estimates, budgets, cost plans and tender documents.
• Review AutoCAD drawings and technical documentation to verify quantities, measurements, specifications and scope of work.
• Take off quantities from architectural, structural and MEP drawings and produce measurement sheets.
• Lead tendering and procurement processes, evaluate and recommend contractors and subcontractors.
• Review and negotiate contracts, variations, claims and commercial terms.
• Monitor project costs, cash flow and financial performance.
• Manage interim valuations, payment certificates, final accounts and subcontractor payments.
• Assess variations, extension‑of‑time, loss and expense claims and other contractual matters.
• Prepare accurate cost reports and provide regular commercial updates to senior management.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, architects, engineers and project managers to ensure delivery within approved budgets and contractual requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience, including proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, cost management and commercial administration.
• Extensive experience with BOQ preparation, quantity take‑offs, cost estimation, valuations, variations and final accounts.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to read, interpret, measure and review construction drawings.
