Shift Engineer

About the role

The Shift Engineer is responsible for overseeing plant operations during each shift, ensuring safety, efficiency and production targets are met at ACWA Power’s water desalination and power generation facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise shift staff, monitor plant performance and make rapid decisions to correct abnormalities.
• Provide technical engineering support, review SOPs and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate with maintenance, HSE and other departments to ensure safe and compliant operations.
• Administer SAP processes for planning, work orders and data integrity.
• Represent the plant in technical meetings and manage emergency response until relieved.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience in water desalination or power generation plants, including 2 years in a supervisory role.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Familiarity with the new IMS system.
• Project management capabilities.
