Unit Head - Large Corporate

About the role

The Unit Head – Large Corporate will lead the CIB Large Corporate unit at Oman Arab Bank, overseeing a portfolio of private‑sector, government and semi‑government companies with revenues above OMR 25 million. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality service, growing the portfolio, and ensuring profitability in line with the bank’s strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the large corporate team, setting targets and coaching members to achieve revenue goals.
• Maintain and deepen relationships with existing corporate clients, understanding their financial needs and timing.
• Identify and originate profitable business opportunities while managing associated risks.
• Conduct thorough due diligence and coordinate with internal departments to evaluate client deals.
• Manage syndication deals, liaise with lead banks, and oversee non‑performing loan management.
• Review client proposals, provide inputs, and obtain approvals from senior banking heads.
• Ensure compliance with all bank policies, including AML/CFT procedures, and report any suspicious activity.
• Participate in strategic initiatives and projects as assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance (preferred qualification in Business Finance or Accounting).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in similar corporate banking roles.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify relevant business opportunities.
• Proven ability to work within complex internal structures and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent relationship‑management and advisory skills.
• Result‑oriented with a strong conviction to close and execute deals.
• Ability to coach, motivate and develop a high‑performing team.
