Field Operator Internship – Process Monitoring

About the role

This internship supports the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment. You will work under supervision to monitor process parameters, assist with start‑ups and shutdowns, and ensure compliance with QHSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and record equipment parameters (pressure, temperature, level) and report abnormalities to the Control Room Operator or supervisors.
• Assist with system start‑ups, shutdowns, pressurizing and depressurizing of equipment and pipelines.
• Perform basic operational and maintenance checks (daily, weekly, monthly) and help prepare equipment for maintenance.
• Follow QHSE procedures such as LOTO, PTW, TBT, and JHA, and ensure proper documentation.
• Hand over accurate shift information and report unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience or academic exposure in the oil & gas sector.
• Familiarity with plant equipment, PFDs, P&IDs, and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and communicate effectively with the team.

Required skills

• Monitoring of pressure, delta pressure, temperature and level gauges.
• Understanding of QHSE procedures (LOTO, PTW, TBT, JHA).
• Basic knowledge of Plant PFDs, P&IDs, and cause‑effect matrices.
• Use of Maintenance Management Systems for work orders and preventive maintenance.
