Home Automation Sales Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Home Automation Sales Engineer to act as the technical and commercial bridge for our smart‑building division. You will work closely with developers, architects, consultants and end‑clients to design, propose and sell integrated KNX‑based automation, security and networking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities with developers, architects, MEP consultants, contractors and end‑clients across residential and commercial projects.
• Conduct site visits and client consultations to capture project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals, BOQs, system schematics and cost estimates for KNX home automation, CCTV, access control and network infrastructure projects.
• Deliver product demonstrations and presentations to clients, consultants and contractors.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure proposals are feasible, budget‑aligned and timely.
• Build and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers and consultants to secure specification at the design stage.
• Negotiate commercial terms, close sales and achieve assigned revenue targets.
• Stay updated on KNX, security and networking product developments and competitor offerings.
• Coordinate with installation teams to ensure smooth handover after sale.
• Represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade shows and networking events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications or a related engineering field.
• 2–5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in home automation, security systems, AV or networking/ICT.
• Working knowledge of KNX systems (certification is a plus but not mandatory).
• Understanding of CCTV, access control, structured cabling and WiFi/network infrastructure fundamentals.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Proven ability to read architectural and MEP drawings and produce technical documentation.
