Information Technology Audit Senior Manager

About the role

The Information Technology Audit Senior Manager leads and executes comprehensive IT audits for a banking institution, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and robust IT controls across all technology environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a risk‑based annual IT audit plan in coordination with senior audit leadership.
• Conduct independent assessments of IT systems, applications, databases, networks, and digital banking platforms, evaluating ITGC, application controls, and cybersecurity measures.
• Review IT disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response frameworks.
• Perform IT governance reviews to ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations, NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, and other standards.
• Manage audit projects, maintain high‑quality working papers, and produce factual audit reports with actionable recommendations.
• Audit cybersecurity frameworks, penetration‑testing results, and digital banking services including mobile and internet banking.
• Assess emerging technologies such as cloud, AI, and blockchain for secure implementation.
• Support business and operational audits by providing IT risk expertise.
• Leverage data‑analytics tools (ACL, Business Objects) for continuous monitoring and testing.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in IT audit within the banking or financial services sector.
• Deep knowledge of IT audit standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Proven ability to lead audit teams, manage projects, and communicate findings to senior management.
• Familiarity with Omani and international IT regulations applicable to banks.

Required skills

• ACL (Audit Command Language) for computer‑assisted audit techniques.
• Business Objects (BO) for data extraction and analysis.
• Understanding of IT general controls (ITGC) and application controls.
• Experience with cybersecurity assessment tools and frameworks.
