Museum Guide

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the facilities management team at a prestigious museum in Oman as a Front of House Museum Guide. You will welcome visitors, provide engaging tours, and ensure a positive museum experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors warmly, answer enquiries, and provide information on exhibitions, events and museum amenities.
• Assist with ticket sales, membership, admissions and manage visitor flow.
• Stay up‑to‑date on exhibits, adapt tour content for diverse audiences including children, school groups and tourists.
• Maintain cleanliness of public areas and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Record visitor numbers and feedback, and participate in team meetings and training.

Required profile

• Omani national (mandatory) and university graduate.
• Experience in customer service, preferably in a museum or cultural institution.
• Native Arabic speaker with fluent English; additional European languages a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk and lead tours throughout the museum.
• Availability to work weekends, public holidays and special events.

Required skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with ticketing systems and databases.
