Unit Head – SME Commercial

About the role

The Unit Head – SME Commercial will lead a team of credit analysts and relationship managers, driving growth and profitability of the SME portfolio. This senior position is responsible for shaping business strategy, managing credit risk, and ensuring high‑quality client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop income‑generating opportunities within defined market industries, contributing to the bank’s overall business plan.
• Manage existing client relationships to maximize profitability and expand market share.
• Establish new customer relationships within the SME sector and handle accounts when senior relationship managers are unavailable.
• Review credit proposals for new and additional exposures, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal and external guidelines.
• Monitor credit quality, minimize non‑performing assets, and maintain portfolio health.
• Set clear objectives for the team, identify training needs, and coordinate with HR for development.
• Drive cross‑selling of products and services to generate additional income.

Required profile

• Omani national with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in SME banking or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of SME banking products, credit analysis, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience leading teams and developing business strategies.
