Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer

About the role

We are launching a new financial markets infrastructure venture in Oman and need an Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer to own the full payment cycle and receivables management from day one. This founding‑team position offers the chance to shape processes, systems and controls in a fast‑growing, regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices – receipt, coding, verification against purchase orders and contracts, and prepare payment runs for approval.
• Maintain supplier master data and bank details, applying fraud‑prevention controls.
• Handle employee expense claims and reconcile corporate travel agency invoices and card statements.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, record receipts and monitor overdue balances.
• Perform daily bank account reconciliation, petty‑cash and corporate‑card record maintenance.
• Apply payment controls including segregation of duties and dual authorisation.
• Identify and promptly escalate anomalous transactions.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or general accounting.
• Proven end‑to‑end AP and AR process ownership.
• Familiarity with corporate banking platforms and payment controls.
• Working knowledge of Omani VAT.
• Fluent English; Arabic preferred.
• Accounting technician qualification or part‑qualification is an advantage.
• Experience in a regulated financial services entity or start‑up environment is a plus.
