About the role
The Assistant Processing Plant Manager supports the Plant Manager in overseeing all poultry processing activities, from bird reception to final product dispatch. This role ensures smooth workflow, compliance with food‑safety standards, and alignment with production targets.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in implementing departmental objectives, KPIs and operational plans.
- Monitor day‑to‑day processing stages – slaughtering, cutting, evisceration, chilling, freezing, packaging and dispatch.
- Support budget tracking, cost variance analysis and expenditure control.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, HACCP, GMP and SSOP food‑safety protocols.
- Help maintain cold‑chain integrity throughout processing, storage and transportation.
- Coordinate workforce planning, attendance monitoring and shift staffing.
- Prepare operational and performance reports for management review.
- Report operational issues, deviations and risks promptly.
Required profile
- Experience in poultry or food‑processing plant operations.
- Knowledge of food‑safety regulations and quality standards.
- Ability to support budget and cost‑control activities.
- Strong organizational skills for coordinating multiple processing stages.
- Effective communication with production, quality and HR teams.
