Chief Accountant – FMCG Distribution

About the role

Union Trading Business LLC, a fast‑growing FMCG distributor in Oman, is looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead its accounting function. You will ensure accurate financial records, strong controls, and timely reporting while supporting the company’s expansion across modern and traditional trade channels.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and supervise the accounting team.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Record all transactions in the ERP system and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Manage accounts receivable, collections, customer reconciliations and dispute resolution.
• Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations and treasury activities.
• Coordinate with sales, logistics, procurement and suppliers to resolve operational and financial issues.
• Conduct inventory audits and ensure compliance with Oman VAT and statutory requirements.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, budgeting, KPI tracking and management reporting.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in FMCG distribution and dealing with modern‑trade customers in Oman is a plus.
