Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor will establish and lead a comprehensive internal audit function for the Group, covering the parent company, subsidiaries, educational institutions and future business entities. Reporting functionally to the Audit & Risk Committee and administratively to the CEO, the role provides independent assurance on governance, risk management, internal controls, financial integrity and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Group Internal Audit Charter, policies, procedures and annual audit plans.
• Conduct risk‑based audits across financial, operational, IT, cybersecurity, procurement, HR and academic functions.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance frameworks and risk‑management practices.
• Monitor compliance with Omani laws, Ministry of Education regulations, corporate governance requirements and internal policies.
• Support the Audit & Risk Committee in oversight activities and review implementation of Board decisions.
• Maintain and update Group risk registers, identify emerging risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Assess financial controls, budgeting, reporting accuracy and procurement processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit, risk management or related fields within large organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Omani legal and regulatory environment, especially in education.
• Proven ability to work independently, provide objective assurance and communicate findings to senior leadership and boards.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and stakeholder‑management skills.
