Engineering Lead – Water & Wastewater Systems

About the role

The Engineering Lead will head the front‑end design and detailed engineering of water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring technical excellence from concept through commissioning. This senior position requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead front‑end engineering design for Water Treatment Plants, Sewage Treatment Plants, Effluent Treatment Plants, ZLD thermal systems and produced water packages.
• Perform and review equipment sizing, hydraulic flow and pressure‑drop analysis, and load calculations for foundations and support structures.
• Manage engineering milestones, deliverables, and interface coordination with clients, contractors and vendors.
• Develop and review technical specifications, RFQs, datasheets and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Approve detailed design documents including general arrangement, piping, isometrics and fabrication drawings.
• Coordinate civil, structural and architectural layouts and validate structural load compatibility.
• Lead risk assessments such as HAZOP, SIL, 3D model reviews and value‑engineering workshops.
• Support component selection, vendor evaluation, cost estimation and provide technical support during installation, commissioning and start‑up.
• Mentor process and design engineers, maintain QHSE compliance and ensure accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master’s degree or professional certification is a plus.
• Extensive experience in end‑to‑end design of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
