Construction Specialist – Coating & Insulation

About the role

The Construction Specialist (Coating & Insulation) will oversee the fabrication and installation of coating and insulation systems for a major oil & gas operator in Sohar, Oman. This long‑term contract position requires strict adherence to safety, quality and schedule targets while coordinating with contractors and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations during fabrication.
• Manage execution of coating and insulation fabrication to meet safety, quality and schedule objectives.
• Provide specialist support to contractors/subcontractors to ensure contractual and technical compliance.
• Review constructability and technical compliance of engineering deliverables.
• Assess and comment on deviations from client construction standards.
• Identify progress or quality concerns and recommend corrective actions.
• Review contractor progress reports and highlight critical issues.
• Liaise with contractors/subcontractors for progress tracking and reporting.
• Participate in risk assessments, pre‑job meetings and technical meetings.
• Contribute to lessons learned and post‑project reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 8 years of experience on large‑scale construction projects in the oil & gas sector.
• Proven expertise in coating and insulation processes.

Required skills
