Senior Officer – Operational Risk, Policy & Procedure

About the role

The Senior Officer – Operational Risk, Policy & Procedure will lead the Operational Risk Department, ensuring compliance with Central Bank of Oman regulations and internal risk frameworks. You will design, implement, and monitor risk programs across the bank’s head office and branches.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Operational Risk Department, meeting all timelines and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct Risk Control Self‑Assessments (RCSA) and evaluate new projects/products (PAPS) for operational risk.
• Develop and deliver operational risk awareness training for staff.
• Prepare and present quarterly, monthly, and weekly risk reports to senior management and risk committees.
• Create, review, and update operational risk policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT vendors to enhance the risk management system and GRC platform.
• Facilitate the Operational Risk Forum (ORF) to track and resolve open risk issues.
• Investigate incidents, update trackers, and ensure effective control measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in operational risk within a banking environment.
• Strong understanding of bank operations, risk management policies, and crisis‑management processes.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
