Application Support Specialist – Investment & Brokerage

About the role

The Application Support Specialist for Investment & Brokerage will ensure the stability and performance of the bank's investment platforms, including the Wealth Management system and customer portal. You will act as the primary point of contact for functional and technical issues, coordinate with vendors, and support business users across trading, mutual funds, and portfolio management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day support for investment and brokerage applications, monitoring performance, batch jobs, and trading processes.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, coordinate with IT infrastructure and vendors, and drive timely resolution.
• Manage system integrations with Core Banking (Finacle, IMAL, Flexcube), payment systems, and market interfaces such as MSX and SWIFT.
• Define and implement monitoring, alerting, and automation mechanisms.
• Provide functional support for equities trading, mutual fund subscriptions/redemptions, portfolio valuation, and fund management operations.
• Own incident and problem management lifecycle following ITIL practices, including root‑cause analysis and major incident handling.
• Support change and release management activities, perform UAT/SIT testing, and coordinate upgrades and patches.
• Deliver user training, create guides, SOPs, and assist relationship managers and operations teams.
• Liaise with vendors to track tickets, validate fixes, and ensure timely deployment.

Required profile

• Omani national.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of IT experience with a focus on investment and brokerage application support.
• ITSM certification preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with Core Banking systems such as Finacle, IMAL, Flexcube.
• Knowledge of market interfaces like MSX and SWIFT.
• API, middleware, and file‑based integration expertise.
• Strong incident, problem, change, and release management skills (ITIL).
• Proficiency in monitoring, alerting, and automation tools.
• UAT and SIT testing experience.
• Understanding of equities trading, mutual fund processing, and portfolio management workflows.
