BESS Engineer – Utility‑Scale Battery Storage (10‑month contract)

About the role

SEGULA Technologies Middle East is looking for an experienced BESS Engineer to lead the installation, integration, commissioning and performance testing of a utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System in Duqm, Oman. The position starts with mobilization in January 2027 and runs for a fixed 10‑month period.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise BESS installation and integration activities on site.
• Monitor and verify battery system installation and Battery Management System (BMS) integration.
• Coordinate electrical and control‑system interfaces.
• Oversee battery fire‑safety systems and ensure compliance.
• Lead testing, commissioning and functional performance verification.
• Review technical documentation and test procedures.
• Support resolution of integration issues and coordinate with electrical, commissioning and HSE teams.
• Assist in final acceptance and handover of the system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with BESS design, integration and commissioning.
• Proven experience with utility‑scale battery systems and BMS architecture.
• Strong knowledge of battery safety and fire‑protection systems.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct commissioning and performance testing.
